Welcome!

 

I help people better understand their own motivations and thought processes to increase their sense of purpose and meaning. I work with direct honesty and care to help clients see their blindspots, clarify what they really care about and assess what they want to accomplish with their lives. Instead of solely focusing on the individual, I work to understand your relationships to others and the world around you.

I have over two years of experience and training in various introspective techniques and philosophical foundations. I have done independent studies into Focusing, Gestalt Therapy, and internal family systems, and draw inspiration from each of these approaches.

What can I expect from a session?

People usually come to me with either an acute problem they want to solve or a desire to redirect their life and goals.

In the first session, I spend the first 15-20 minutes getting you know you - your existing process of self reflection, what kinds of blocks you are prone to encounter, and how you are most comfortable communicating. I’ll then work on teaching you some basic methods of introspection - using felt senses and specific questions which help get you to the crux of the issue at hand. I’ll guide you through various reflective techniques to better elicit your own desires, internal conflicts, and beliefs about a given situation.

My Approach

My goal is for us to do effective work together, and for you to become able to work through the majority of problems on your own. As we work together, my focus will shift from the object level issue to increasing your proficiency with working through your own blocks to achieving your goals.

To make the best use of our time, I will frequently pause my work with a client and request they read a certain book or work on something on their own. If we are getting stuck, I will assess why and work to make sure we are making tangible progress rather than getting into a dependency loop.

All sessions look a little different, as I adapt my work based on who you are and what you need. Sometimes this will look like clarifying and improving your metaphysics, sometimes it will look like helping you better understand the people you care about and the fundamentals of society.
